We lost Reaper to complications from Lyme Disease and Anaplasmosis. Unfortunately, it causes kidney failure. He was a wonderful dog all around and he is greatly missed.
About Reaper: Reaper was purchased in 2017 from a youth handler in VA. His name was originally Lucky, and we still call him that mostly. He started his trip to Maine via ground shipper and everything went well until he got to Sanford. In Sanford, the shipper took him out of the car and he slipped his collar. My friends were there picking him up for me and did everything they could to try to catch him. After a long 21 days, he was finally trapped and brought home safely.
After arriving at home, he was shown to Grand Champion and we took him out night hunting a couple times. He took a while to rebuild his confidence and trust but he did great. He was absolutely wonderful with everyone he knows but a bit nervous of strangers.
He had 40 night hunt points and 95 AKC bench show points! He finished his UKC bench Grand Champion and had 50 points in UKC conformation.
